In July 2008, Rightmove estimated the rate of descent UK property prices on an annualised basis at 11%, as desperate home owners slashed prices only to receive a stony silence from potential house buyers.
The situation here in Harrogate was nowhere near as bad, but throughout Yorkshire Estate Agents were closing down.
It was into this maelstrom that the Myring family stepped to open the doors of Myrings Estate Agents Ltd of Princes Square Harrogate. We are inspired by a vision of offering a very friendly, individual & expert service to clients – Vendors and Buyers alike.
We will never forget the help and encouragement offered to us in these early difficult days by clients and friends alike, as well as fellow professionals: Surveyors, Solicitors, Financial Services providers, Builders and also Tradesmen.
The rest, as they say, is history.
In all modesty, we believe that Myrings is now widely recognised as the leading and most progressive independent Estate Agent in the town.
We have grown over the years as we have expanded the business and built the brand , recruited experienced industry experts and trained our entry-level staff.
In 2012 we opened in Lettings, fitted out a dedicated office on the second floor of our premises and recruited a specialist sales team.
We are now giving all our offices a major refurbishment, all part and parcel of us ushering in a new phase in the life and times of Myring’s and the Harrogate property market. This has also seen us launch a new upgraded web site, refresh the design of our Sales & Lettings boards, and re-wrap our viewing cars.
Some things however have not changed since those early days.
We still open seven days a week, still work very hard on behalf of our clients (Vendors, Buyers, Landlords and Tenants) and still introduce the latest and best technology available to the Industry.
We have recognised that our Harrogate clients by in large lead busy lives and are greatly interested in the overall local property marketplace. They want to be updated “in real time” – by phone & e mail. They want us to make the best use of our website and the major Property Portals (as per Rightmove & OnTheMarket) and our databases and contacts.
They also want us to embrace the whole new world of Social Media networking and to keep them up to date with news of the Harrogate Property Market .
This is why we have decided to launch “The Harrogate Property Blog”.
We hope it will be well received and play a role, however modest, in the life of the town we all call home.
